Class Overview & Expectations

Reading Enrichment is designed to target struggling readers and give them the support necessary to succeed in a Middle School environment. Students will be expected to work hard to achieve proficiency in reading, a skill that will carry them through the rest of their lives.

Reading Enrichment is a "Credit/No Credit" course, meaning students who work hard, participate in class and turn in assignments will have no problem receiving credit for the course. Students who do not participate in class and frequently do not turn in assignments will not receive credit for the course. Parent contact would be made at mid-marking if this was an issue, and has not been an issue in the past. Students will not have homework in Reading, but in lieu of homework they will be expected to read 15-20 mintues a night at home.
